Last Thing a Fish Sees

This pelican must have been pretty hungry if he was trying to eat me. Or possibly there was a delicious looking fish between the two of us. I didn't stick around to find out - he scared the crap out of me.
Perfect symmetry Ron. Sam would love this @gigiflower

Very intimidating pose Ron you did well to stand your ground, wonderful light, detail and composition, did you know " 'A wonderful bird is the Pelican, his beak can hold more than his belly can" :)

This is incredible, Ron!

Fabulous shot, but your title makes this a very ominous scene! Love it.

Cool POV and capture!
January 12th, 2018
He doesn't even look like a bird. What are those arms?
January 12th, 2018
Whoa! I would hate to be a fish! Fantastic shot!

@terryliv Thank you kindly, Poppo. Sam did seem to appreciate it - imagine having a fetish about a certain type of fowl.....oh, wait.

@jin1x Thanks Miss Sunkist. Always good to hear from you. :)

@marnies Thanks Marnie, that's an interesting description for a pelican. The falcons and eagles are protesting.

@mbrutus Thanks Marshall. Sometimes you just get lucky. Always have that camera handy. ;)

@onewing Thanks Babs, glad you stopped by. I've been enjoying your light painting shots!

@summerfield Thanks Vicky! Got lucky with the shutter.

@gigiflower Thanks Sam, glad Poppo keyed you in. So you're a pelican guy, huh? I have to admit to being a flamingo fan. May have to add pelicans to that list of fetishes.
January 13th, 2018
@pcoulson Thanks so much Peter. :) Are you reciting an old nursery rhyme there? I like it. I discovered when trying to ID this guy that they can scoop up a whole pouch full of water and then it will drain out taking sometimes a whole minute. Cool stuff!

@mikegifford Thanks so much Mike, and thanks for the follow. Good to hear from another D850 user. It's quite a camera, isn't it?

@gardenfolk Thanks so much. Glad you dropped by to view and comment.

@tunia Hi Tunia, yes, that's one crazy looking bird, huh? It's a little deceiving, but what look like arms are the leading edges of his wings. He would flap his wings to propel himself forward to grab his fish. The shot caught him just beginning to flap.

@pamgleason Thanks Pam, I felt somewhat like a fish myself there. Thanks for the fav and follow. You've got a new follower too. :)

@gigiflower So when are we going to start seeing some gigiflower shots again Sam? Ron is back and so should you be.
January 13th, 2018
@stray_shooter That's a fact. And you sure practiced what you preached here.
