It's Friday, and you know what that means! Today's flamingo positioned himself nicely in the sun allowing me to capture a bit of color off of his wing feathers. I think the word is out among the flamingo community. Best on black....of course.
What exquisitely nuanced shading this one has! Beautiful! Of course you had a great deal to do with bringing this image to life, and beautifully so! I don't think this is a member of that collection of "funny looking" birds anymore!
Oh my, what a gorgeous flamingo. I’m glad the word is out, that means there won’t be a shortage of Flamingo Friday models for your forays to the Flamingo farm! 😊
I just love these fabulous birds- so beautifully ugly! Wonderful capture showing this beauty at its best! I always look forward to flamingo Friday - makes me smile! Fav!
@salza Thanks Sally. They certainly do have piercing, definitive eyes. Of course I set it right on the intersection of the "thirds" when cropping too. ;) Always good to hear from you.
@onewing Thanks Babs, there really is something about their eyes. The other gang of flamingos at Safari Park has orange/pink glowing eyes. Just can't win.
This deserves to be on the popular page for it's beauty alone, if nothing else! (So in my mind, it IS!) Did you take this just last week...as I was limping and hobbling to the car? I'm pretty sure we'll be back down on TH... Cuz I need more photos for my book... hahaha, she laughed maniacally!
@Weezilou Yes, that was one of the late afternoon shots. The light at that hour yields some terrific results. Turns out I will not be with the gang on Tuesday due to a golf conflict. Good luck with your shots should you get back there. F stop lessons learned!
It's Thursday we're planning to go down there; I had thought that's when the group met.. Retirement is always full of wonderful surprise conflicts! Have a good time! (I've been practicing...but tonight I think I'll use Ken's photo as he nailed it! Perhaps I'm over-thinking it!)
