Shot this down at the Dana Point harbor where many fishing boats are moored. When you see the amount of equipment and the extent of work associated with hauling in and transporting the day's catch, and then the cleanup required, you gain a whole lot more appreciation for the work involved with getting that seafood meal to your table.
Great color in this, I love the reflections too. One of my high school classmates had a fleet of eighteen wheelers that drove fresh produce all over the country. I felt the same way about that as you feel about the fresh seafood. No one stops to think about what it takes to get groceries to the grocery stores, a very labor intensive process.
Love the boldness of the colors in this shot. Great lines, shapes and reflections. I agree that we really have little idea of the amount of work that goes into any of the food on our dinner plate.
@onewing Thanks Babs - like I mentioned to Pam, I seem to be one a one man mission to supply a bit of colour this month. That continues with the succeeding post. ;-)
@louannwarren Thanks Lou Ann. Yes, we sometimes have to step back and consider what it takes to feed us......as well as those who quench our thirst! ;-)
@lyndemc Thanks so much Denise. What I found to be interesting is how much brighter the colors in the reflection are compared to the original object. Someone explained that to me, something to do with the light spectrum in the water or something like that. All I really remember is thinking, "huh, don't know if this will make a good photo or not.....glad I'm saving these images to a card electronically!"
@taffy Thanks Taffy. Keen observation there. I also kind of came to the conclusion that it ended up being a sort of unintentional abstract. Ya never know!
