I'm attempting to do more street photography, and this is today's attempt. There's a story here, but I'm not quite sure what it is. The woman appears to be homeless, but her dog seems to be OK with the situation. It almost reminds me of a current very funny commercial for a stock trading service featuring dogs living in luxury, claiming that you need their services because there are dogs living better lives that you.
So interesting and well-accomplished, Ron. At first glance, I thought she was at a casual cocktail party...a very California look with her hair length and glasses on her head. She's a bit unkempt, but he dog isn't of a mutt variety... It would be an interesting story to learn further...
Love the image. Thought provoking, people’s circumstances can change so easily, sometimes through no fault of their own. We have a Jack Russell, and I know I wouldn’t mind her’Dogs Life’…fed, watered, all medical bills taken care of, entertained, all in all spoilt, and doesn’t have to go to work.
Interesting monochrome candid/street capture, I like the monochrome tones, point of focus and composition, street photography can be challenging every person has a story to tell, always treat the subject with respect and you will get some wonderful images best of luck with it Ron:)
the lady with her seemingly well-trimmed pet and her sunglasses and her stance doesn't look homeless compared to the crumpled pants as well as the body language of the three other people. but that is the effect of a black and white photograph, it sometimes translates to the mind something that's entirely different.
there used to be a homeless man at a corner near my office with a medium sized dog. a few people would occasionally take the dog to have it groomed then return it to the homeless guy.
Right you are, Ron! I know my animals live in the lap of luxury. Whenever I go to the pet store to get their food, the ibill is always over $200! I then tell the cashier that my husband and I will be eating Top Ramen… Ha ha ha ha!
