Every time I go to the beach I see kids taking photos of each other in cap and gown. Maybe it's the whole COVID thing, but I don't recall being permitted to take my cap and gown further than the doors of the school gym. Anyway, something about this new grad's expression and the faceless photographers appealed to me for this week's street shot.
This is so great. I love âstolen smilesâ photos. Here graduations have been held at a NASCAR race track, an NFL football stadium, the Coyote Drive In Movie Theater in Fort Worth (with a spectacular fireworks show afterward). Some districts had drive by graduations at their schools, teachers lining the parking lots with signs and balloons (masks on), principals etc handing diplomas through car windows. It has been an amazing time to graduate really. Everyone tried hard to make it something the students wouldnât forget.
Fun shot- the gowns are pretty "cheap" now. Not like the heavy one I graduated in. I think you can actually buy them for a small sum so perhaps that's the case here. It's been an interesting time for grads- but as Lou Ann said, I've seen some pretty creative ways to celebrate their achievements. Good catch!
@lynnz@ludwigsdiana@jyokota@onewing@koalagardens@pcoulson@gilbertwood@markkoso65@pdulis@louannwarren@bkbinthecity@olivetreeann I'm a bit behind lately, so by necessity a group reply. Thanks so much for all of the interesting and supportive comments. I guess I'm showing my age - or ignorance - in not realizing that modern caps and gowns are disposable now. Makes sense, and seems a whole lot easier than the check out/check in process I recall. @tunia Attitude! That's the term I was looking for! Yes, definitely attitude. Thanks!!
