Didn't quite get this right, dof perhaps a little too shallow, would have liked some more of the lower foreground wheat in focus. But I like the overall feel of the shot so will post it anyway.
The focus on the single strand (? can't seem to think of the right word!!) of wheat is perfect which must have been pretty difficult if it was as windy where your are as it was here today. The sky is gorgeous too and the image does have a good feel but I understand what you are saying about the dof.
I can see what you are saying, but the focus being on the wheat works really well with the brilliant colours slightly blurred. Your eye is drawn to the wheat which is where it should be.
I'm with Babs on this one. Your eye is drawn to the wheat because it's the only thing that's really sharp. The complimentary colours work their magic in the background beautifully.
@semjaja thanks Sem, I think in the end it does work on a certain level @jayholm64 thank you Jay @jocasta thanks! @thirdjoe thanks Joe for the comment, that's appreciated. Glad you like it. @paulaw hi Paula, thanks ! Yes it was tricky I was crouched down on the edge of this field for ages whilst this strand fluttered about, fast shutter speed in the end! @christinehosey thanks Christine @shepherdmanswife thank you :) @joydnichols thanks Jodi, that's what drew me to the shot. @kwind glad you like it :) @joeyc thanks Joey, haha, yep I do still prefer b&w though for the most part ! @derekvickers thanks for the fav Derek :) @onewing thanks Babs, you made me look at this shot in a completely different way and I think you're right, I like the shot a lot more now with that perspective on it.
@allisonraposa thanks Allison :) @mchartwig thanks so much for the fav Celi @my_photofun thanks Darinka @kdimagery glad you like it Kd @adventuringowls thanks Mae @camim thanks Camila, yes I loved the sky too! @sbolden thanks Scott, that's a really nice comment @friend2303 thanks Vijay! @gigiz nice way of looking at it :) @kazlamont thanks Kazzy, I really tried to bring out that golden wheat feeling in the shot @tillycarter thanks Krista, I took quite a few shots as the clouds moved across and this version had the most pleasing arrangement. @bkbinthecity thank you @joysfocus thanks Joy @ivan thanks for the fav Ivan ! @islandk8 thank you Kate @ch1ppy_m1nton thanks Chippy
The colors, light and dof on this is AMAZING! I am very intrigued by this shiny, glossy look on your photos. How do you achieve that? I don't know if I'm making any sense, but I have never seen this in anybody's pics. It looks like I'm seeing a glossy print. Very cool processing.
@ikamera Hi Kiran, thanks so much for your kind comments and the follow back, very much appreciated, especially coming from someone whose photography I really admire. On the processing front I'm still really new to the tools available, I'd never even used a processing programme like photoshop until a few days into this project ! But now I use a combination of photoshop express and snapseed on my ipad. With colour images I love contrast and high saturation of the colours, I just move these around until I see something that I like I guess, perhaps that gives them the shiny glossy feature you mentioned. For me the processing part has now opened up a whole new world where I create something out of the image as I saw it. I do love b&w photography more though for its power and drama.
@jayholm64 thank you Jay
