Question - How should I have taken photo?

Taken a photo of a path in the woods. Its very steep but looks flat/slope in photo.
How should I have taken photo to make it look steep?
Nicely captured. If you shoot close to the ground (looking up) it may help

Yes, getting down low will help. Also, you could try different camera angles - e.g. get down low and point the camera upwards more. That would show you the sky and create more converging angles with the trees. Experiment, experiment, experiment. LOL.

It's a great shot. Only other suggestion not included above, see what it looks like in B&W. May add more drama and atmosphere

I like the sense of mystery in the shot - 'where's the path leading to?'
Adding to what others have said about getting down low, I'd say try showing less of the height of the trees as well. I 'cropped' the top third of this image by scrolling it on the screen and I think the path looks more as if it's sloping upwards.
