It rained all morning again but then the sun came out just as we went for a walk along the seafront. Eastbourne Pier looked quite exotic framed by the palms along the promenade!
The pier suffered a very bad fire a few years ago and was practically destroyed but an Indian Sheikh stepped in and bought It. He hasn’t however been very popular with the locals because of his changes to the pier. His decision to paint all the domes gold met with a lot of opposition, but eventually he got the planning permission. I think it makes it look quite destinictive.
