Green lizard

Spent a very interesting day with @megapictilly at Beaver World and Reptile Zoo near Westerham in Kent. This charity has taken in all manner of reptiles, birds, beavers etc etc that have been abandoned by their owners and has been going since 1980. Unfortunately the landlord now wants the land for something else so they are looking for new premises.
I took about 150 photos today and have whittled these down to about 20 reasonable ones. All the lizards had information about what they were and where they came from, but I forgot to note any down. So, this is a green lizard!

Watch out for more over the next few days!
This is a great photo! Love his little catch lights and the way you have used a shallow dof. A great focus on his eye - def fav!

That is just wonderful! I love the focus, the glint in the eye, the texture of the skin, the colours.......firm favourite! Amazing the exotic pets people take on and then abandon. I cheer on people who take care of them.

VML the turquoise and the going towards acid green colours. Such a pleasant change from strong colours fading fast as Autumn installs herself.

@casablanca Yes it's so sad that people abandon these exotic pets. Apparently they have lots just left on the doorstep. I hope they manage to find another venue

@onewing it's a basilisk - Taronga in Sydney has a Crested Basilisk - they are a member of the iguana family - not sure which one this is - @suesouthwood they are gorgeous

@onewing @suesouthwood on looking at my photos from Taronga I think it is the same - a Crested or Green Basilisk
