Storm aftermath by sugarmuser

Storm aftermath

We have had no phone line for the last few days, trees uprooted in the park next door, the roads were full of fallen trees, some fell on houses. No flooding for us, but so many houses completely submerged. An horrific storm that whipped through most of the east coast of Australia.
Looks like things got a bit wild. Well collated collage giving an idea of what things were like

The storm has certainly made the news headlines here in the States and I have been wondering about all the 365 Aussies! Glad that you didn't have any flooding. Nice collage....I hope the storm is done!

Great collage - I know many people who were affected and I think the hardest part was that they had really only just gotten over the last flooding.
Glad you are safe.

That's just on your block? Amazing. Great collection of shots

Great collection of shots. Hope you get your power back soon. We had a bad storm last August and were without power for several days
January 29th, 2013
I wish everybody is safe out there...
January 29th, 2013
Very good collage showing the devastation Sharon - it must have been scary considering this is what happened on your block
January 29th, 2013
I can't say its good to see these shots as it looks very destructive , this cyclone! Poor people with washed away houses!
January 29th, 2013
Is this the same storm that was whipping up sea foam feet thick? We're used to seeing images of hurricanes roll through Florida & that's just what these photos look like. I hope you and yours came out unscathed.
January 30th, 2013
@hoosierhokie Same storm... it went right through the east coast... a very large area.
January 30th, 2013
@sugarmuser - the pictures we see on the tv of people engulfed up to their necks in that was kind of scary. I can't imagine how powerful and sustained the winds must be to produce that much sea foam.
January 30th, 2013
Great collage, there's a whole lot of damage around the place! I've got a large tree down that I have to contend with.
January 30th, 2013
Great series of shots. Hopefully things will start easing soon.

@pizzaboy If you need a hand let us know...
January 30th, 2013
@sugarmuser Cheers, we'll be OK, the people over the road had one car roll across the road into my neighbours' house, then a tree fell on their other car!! My concern is that my tree is hanging a bit close to my neiighbours' front window, which is already pushed in by the car hitting it, so I need to go carefully in cutting up the fallen tree.
January 30th, 2013
I'm glad that you are ok. Sad for the people that lost so much.
January 30th, 2013
@pizzaboy sounds like a tough job

Wow. You have captured this well. Bad buisiness all round though.
January 30th, 2013
So sorry to see all that devastation. At least you have been spared. Great shots and collage to show the result.
January 30th, 2013
Ugh! Hope there hasn't been any loss of life. Your collage definitely brings home the extent of the destruction.

Excellent collage. It certainly tells a story. It was very wild there for a few days. We got flooded in for 2 days, no damage just a few old trees down in the paddocks!!
