in my travels with partner and the grands this morning, i saw the tip of a fountain from afar so we drove down to where it was to investigate. it turns out it was an 'eco' pond beside a large parkette. there is a boardwalk with benches along half of the pond that face west where you have a view of the CN tower. the opposite half of the pond has tall reeds and it makes for a nice hideaway for ducks, geese and a pair of swans.
at first the grands didn't want to get off the car but when they saw the swans they changed their minds. they played around the parkette and chased birds while i took pictures. there was a red-winged black bird which was bullying the two swans, dive bombing them repeatedly. partner said the bird must have had a nest underneath the boardwalk and the swans must've done something to it because he thought the black bird was angry at the swans.
this place is very near the ashbridges bay where i go to shoot the boats. whereas the bay is just straight down south, this park/pond is two blocks east. that means that i have another venue for my photo opps whenever i'd get tired of the boats and the bay.
cropped only. if this was any closer, you'd see clearly the water droplet happening in front of this baby.
thank you so much for your kind visits and comments. i appreciate them very much.
Is this where the racetrack used to be? I've been in there shooting too, but I wasn't lucky enough to see any swans..this guys is a beauty and I like that lone drop....errr...did you see the way he is looking at you? As if to say rescue me from those dern redwings!
