i knew one day it's going to come especially when i saw yesterday that the five plus two's theme this week is "naked".
my get-pushed partner this week is wendy helton @photohoot whose challenge is for me to participate in the five plus two's naked challenge. that's just fine by me because i have this idea in my head (of course i have ideas!) for the challenge.
now, as a matter of principle, i don't, won't, can't do a nude selfie. i have no objection to nude portraits, especially when it is artfully and tastefully done, and if i was perhaps ten or fifteen years younger, i probably would do it. however, at sixty, i have no inclination nor desire to pose in the nude. it's also for your own good, as i don't want to be the cause of your resulting blindness or mental trauma.
far cry of course from when i was twenty-one and had a part time job of modeling for an art class at the university of the philippines in manila and a side job as a live mannequin at a high end department store. in my first gig with the art class, i got pissed because there were students who drew a mango, another a bowl of strawberries by a window, whilst looking at me. but i was young and a little bit conceited and absolutely had no understanding of or idea about art.
so....i hate dolls, never liked them. you can ask my sisters. but what do you know, today i have to play with one just so i could fulfill the challenge. and this thing, i don't even have a name for it, is able and willing to pose naked.
This is a wonderfully creative response to the challenge. Fantastic! And I think we all have reservations about being nude, no matter the age. Haha! I think you look fantastic!
This is a great challenge photo, very tastefully done! I know what you mean about not wanting to pose in the nude! If I had a figure like the doll maybe I would!! Only joking :)
Fabulous and very tasteful selfie. I hated dolls too as a kid...boooring! However I loved paper dolls. I used to design, cut out and colour in all their clothes. Dior would have been proud. Love this shot, I have to fav it in memory of dolls!
@kaesebiscuit - mr. b, after 60, age and gravity don't play nice with each other anymore, that's why. thank you.
@megstorey - why, thank you, meg. so sweet of you, kiddo.
@678tabby - hahaha! if i have a figure like the doll i'd be like a praying mantis! thank you, june.
@silverlight - wow! i did love paper dolls, and i thought for the longest while when i was a little girl that i was going to be a dress designer. hmmm...maybe i should make one for the little granddaughter. thank you, cheryl.
Well done! I'm not sure I'd even be brave enough to show as much skin as you're showing here. Time and tide and a woman's life cycle have not been kind to me.
@olivetreeann - hahaha! partner was wondering last night why i was wearing my strapless summer dress. i said i was practicing for when i go to manila next month. thank you, ann.
@summerfield - we got heaps of Mangoes here, they're called Banana Mango, and Peach Mango and Apple Mango and Carrot Mango and they all are slightly different sizes and sweetnesses.
@summerfield - I really should have taken a photo of the group that were selling the pineapples. Just on the side of the road and they had maybe 30 pineapples to sell! Quite long ones and they made my car smell sweet-as!
Bravo for this photo so well done without revealing anything except a biafran Barbie! ps... isn't Jason @bobfoto a hoot? Good to have him on your side!
clothes on !
Cleverly done and again your story telling is intriguing
"if i was perhaps ten or fifteen years younger, i probably would do it." - I really don't see what your age has to do with it.
