this is the most action i could catch these days. bad day at the office, too busy, too many things going. and it's not going to get better tomorrow and next week.
my get pushed partner marta @whimsicalgrateful wanted to see an action shot, so here are two young ladies in hurry to get to where they needed to be and to get out of the cold, cold temperature ravaging the city since last week. taken during my walk about with @moniquenadeau the other day.
that's the the good thing with having a photo buddy. you can do street shots without any problem. you can just pretend you're taking a pic of your bud, but you're actually shooting something else. this was in front of the royal york hotel and the doorman (wearing the red coat) at one point was looking at me with a rather nasty expression. tee-hee!
@summerfield I saw two possible interpretations of the challenge I set up for you: 1. freezing movement by using a high shutter speed or 2. setting a lower shutter speed to "see" the movement in the shot (something like this https://doorsteptravel.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/5449661362_42599bd0a1_z.jpg?w=640&h=372&crop=1). I was curious to see how you'd interpret the cue and I like the way you did it. I really like the man in the red coat as an element of juxtaposition to the fast walkers. Well done!
@summerfield I feel that shooting fast moving subjects is something you should keep exploring to get tack-sharp images. I'd try switching to AF-C focus mode (autofocus continuous) and setting an even higher shutter speed (1/500 or more) to freeze your subject.
Having said that, I am definitely happy to issue another challenge, since I understand you might like to try something new. How about a selfie with a focus on one body part? I think this article might help http://www.clickinmoms.com/blog/5-ways-to-take-a-good-selfie-by-beth-deschamp/
Please let me know if that suits.
and 2. would be this http://365project.org/summerfield/365-again/2015-01-01 which was the most recent motion shot i got as a push. you want to give me another challenge?
