toronto is most always represented in photographs by the CN tower which is so visible in most parts of our office as it is only about four blocks south-west of our building.
the city is home to 7 major league teams, notably the blue jays (world series champs in 1992 and 1993), the raptors basketball team, and the maple leafs hockey team. there is also the argonauts, a canadian football league team. across the street you will find the hockey hall of fame. we are Canadians, after all and we (well, not me but the rest of the country probably) love our hockey.
toronto is a melting pot of cultures, with 49% of its population having been born outside of canada. it is the most populous city in canada and the fourth most populous city in north america.
in april 2015, toronto will be hosting the pan-am games and with any luck, you might see a video of me, wearing red top and holding my camera, welcoming all the athletes, their families and friends to my beautiful city that is toronto!

for the five plus two theme which is "local flavor", propping our home towns with love and showcasing it to the world of 365.
i would have wanted a shot outside but i was rather busy and couldn't manage to sneak out so an inside shot would have to do for today.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.

@summerfield Well this is beautiful and haters gonna hate, I guess;-). P.S. My local flavor entry was totally lame. I just make mine fit these days. I have a great place to go for a shot, but I am not much getting out these days. Too damn cold and I'm not gonna drag my kiddo along to where the great shots are.
@amandal - i was just reading your blue jay post. yes, family should always be your priority. the children are growing up and are at their most impressionable stage. but it's not like you're doing something that is dangerous or damaging. at the same time, you also need to nurture the creative in you, and do whatever pleases you until you find your true niche. it is learning to find the balance. unfortunately, i have no good advice as to how you may achieve or find that balance. :-) but you are smart and clever as i think you are on the right track. and the old lady once again is babbling. tee-hee!
@summerfield Babble away...I like it. And thanks so much for your sweet comments and fav on my Sweet Child o' Mine. Can't wait to see your favorite song of all time photo. I should make it an official challenge.
I really loved your shot for this theme! I have been so ridiculously busy that I didn't have the chance to say so before but this is fantastic! +Fav. for me!
To begin, the photo is great, and superbly composed. The lighting and detail are superb I think. The information to support the photo is a brilliant bonus, and as someon ewho has never visited your lovely City, it certainly paints a picture, thank you. As an Englishman, I am always amused at Americans (and Canadians) calling their temas 'world champions' at a sport not many people outside of their country play! But having said that, I love the States, and Canada is definitely on my list of places to visit!
