bowler hat still life by summerfield

bowler hat still life

"you don't have to wear a cowboy hat to be a man" - edward hermann

a bowler hat would do just fine. and a mustachio. and a daisy flower on your lapel.

no selfie tonight. all my attempts at rim lighting didn't pan out. there were about three that were really good but i wasn't wearing the hat. :-D

must get back to sleep. i shall catch up with you, nice people, tomorrow. thank you for your visits and kind comments, i appreciate them all.

and i leave you with this rather beautiful ditty. it's a song that's been nagging at my brain for so many days now - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hEmGcbQp4U

Were you wearing the mustache? Nice still life. Bow tie?

A great still like shot, love the props and the high key on the flower!

Nice. I know what you mean about rim lighting. I have made a few attempts but none of them have worked.

@redy4et - that's my moustache right there! i forgot to include the bow tie as i was wearing it when i took the photo. :-) thank you, elizabeth.

@maggiemae - she does, eh! thank you, maggiemae.

@barneyone - i thought so, too. at first when i applied the cross processing and the flower sort of faded, but looking at the picture i thought it was quite brilliant! thank you, rita.

@claireuk - awww! thank you, my friend claire. you're so sweet with that fav.

@678tabby - thank you, june.

@k1w1 - my living room had been stripped of all crap and clutter. now it's just the tripods and stands and the soft box. you'd think it's a real studio but i still couldn't get a proper rim lighted photo. i finally got tired of looking at my face on the screen so i told myself a still life wouldn't be so bad. hopefully, i'd get better shots today. i think i may have a model. thank you, christine. btw, when?

@salza - thank you, sally. high key is much easier for me now to achieve rather than low key. struggling to the max, that's me. the generous fav is so much appreciated, too!

@ithinkithunk - thank you, kristen.
