yesterday, i wanted to take a photo of these white berries but it was windy and the berries won't stay put and all my zoom burst shots were, well, shut! i had no patience left in me after a long day at the office. what to do?
i stole a branch of the berries. i felt so bad and so guilty, even though i made sure no one was coming by or no one was looking. but i justified it with the fact that someone must've had the same intention earlier but did not follow through so this branch was actually semi-attached to (or semi-detached from) the bush. if i had left it there, like what the earlier perpetrator did, it would've have wilted and died anyway. so, why don't i preserve its glory by taking it home and taking a shot of it?
there, i feel better now that i have confessed. :-)
for this week's get-pushed challenge, the pretty saxa van eijnsbergen @overalvandaan pushed me to a zoom burst shot. it's not a technique i particularly like but i like this of the few shots i did. maybe i'll do another one if i'm so inclined tomorrow. i'll stalk the runners on bay street!
cropped to get the rid of the shitty borders that got included in the shot.
thank you for your kind visits and comments especially on my selfstories posting; know that they are truly appreciated.
So you zoom as you take the picture! I don't know if my new camera will do that! It makes great emphasis on the white berries against the dark background!
@summerfield But they don't. I've done both on the same subject and some of them are very different. On this one, the berries are in focus in the center (the telephoto end),with the wider angle on the outside. I didn't look at the exif info until just now. The exif info will give the focal length of the starting point, so you most likely have an 18 -55mm lens on this shot.
@bill_fe - thank you for sharing! i'm going to do my primal shot tonight. should've done it last night but i was a sloth! i'll also be shooting my madhatters post hopefully. i'm sick and tired of writing about me. plus i get depressed seeing the old photographs of that little floosy. :-D
@summerfield :-D You were beautiful, still are. And on top of that, a wonderful person.
I don't think I could get tired or reading your stories.
I'll be packing for a camping trip tonight, leaving tomorrow morning. Will most likely be incommunicado 'til Sunday. I'm looking forward to see what you post.
@grammyn - sure you can do it, too! as you press the shutter, move the lens to zoom in or out. i did it once in the beginning when i was just using a p&s. then you just etsooi the heck out of it to get the background. :-)
@maggiemae - yes, as i told katy above, just zoom in or out your lens as you press the shutter. it took me quite a few shots to get the desired effect. this was the best of the lot. just process it to the hilt afterwards. thank you, maggiemae.
