between the fronds and the foliage by summerfield

between the fronds and the foliage

there was a wedding shoot at the gardens. they had five photographers and two video men. i got a few sneak shots but they were of the bridesmaids who couldn't walk in their platformed high heels. the groom didn't care that all cameras were on his bride so he stepped away and checked his blackberry. i can't understand a lot of people. what is so important that the damn cellphone cannot wait? really? on your wedding day? when he was being asked to join the bride for the shots, his reply was "two minutes". tee-hee!

in any case, i was waiting for a chance to pass through but the five photographers seemed to endlessly take their turn. when finally i couldn't take it anymore, i aimed my camera at the bride and pressed my shutter as i focused. someone tried to pass and hit my elbow (how rude!) and the focus became the frond of a nearby palm tree and the bride became blurry. but i liked the result. so i processed it to death in ribbet to make it look dreamy. i think that is one of the ways you rescue a failed shot - make it look artsy-fartsy.

for the weekly theme. look at her face framed by the palm fronds!

also for the f-word challenge featuring the word "frondescence" which also means 'foliage'.

thank you kindly for your visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated. came home quite late tonight so i will try and catch up with you folks tomorrow.
i like that you can see her smile - she is happy despite hubby on the blackberry hahahahaha
I love artsy fartsy

Nicely done. Maybe the bride should have grabbed the phone and tossed it into the foilage

You managed dreamy and artsy fartsy quite well! I agree that the new hubby's phone should be, well, elsewhere!

How lovely, embrace the mistake, make it a challenge and often better outcomes arise

Love this sneaky shot

It does look dreamy - I hope the bride is going to live in dreams! These blueberries need to be eaten and not accessed!

love the rescue; photo looks like a sneak shot that caught the bride in a happy private moment rather than a planned photo-shoot!

Oh, I wouldn't be surprised if hers is hiding in the bouquet somewhere. A happy accident that bump- I think this shot is more interesting than the one you had planned because of the dreamy effect the blur gives you.

Lovely shot, really pretty

This is just lovely! What a beautiful bride, and I agree, a problem -in-the-making that the groom had to keep everyone waiting while he was on the phone! Really!!??!

yep... brilliant rescue on this!

Yeah, the groom was probably twitting his happy moment!! Sure! This actually turned out quite well.....I really like the focus on the frond, sort of like a veil or a fan, and her being blurry and dreamy.....let's hope that is not going to be the story of her life!
