cannas are one of the most colourful summer flowers. flamboyant and boastful, even when it doesn't flower, its veined, paddle-shaped leaves and sheathing leafstalks in shades of green or bronze are a spectacle just the same. when i was young, we used to pass by a large patch of wild cannas; i would pick a stalk or two to give to my teacher or bring home to my mother or the neighbour's granny. back in the old country we know this as bandera espanola.
i will be travelling tomorrow down south so i have a good excuse yet again for being a lazy ass when it comes to commenting. hopefully, the hotel would have a good internet connection.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; they are much appreciated.
dagnabits! i forgot that befunky eats the exif. i'm locked out of ribbet for some reason and i'm not in the mood to deal with the newly installed photoshop CC!
I think " bandera espanola." is the perfect description of this flowering plant! "Canna" brings nothing relevent to mind! Heading south, you say? Have a great weekend!
