annabel lee by edgar allan poe

awww! hop-along bob, whilst exploring the blue rocks at lunenburg, was so taken by this young girl who was standing by the rocks looking at the misty harbour. and then he started to recite the poem:

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

it's a special segment of the toys month this week. we get to interpret our favourite movies, stories, novels, songs, poems and HAB chose to interpret "annabel lee" with this photo. and wouldn't you know it, the poem had actually been adapted into a song/music. i'd give you the version by joan baez but it's a most irritating sound for my old ears so here's stevie nicks' more listenable (did i just invent a word?) or tolerable version. you don't have to listen to it though.
beautiful, mysterious with a hint of irony... Love it!

It's a terrific shot to illustrate that poem and I'm so glad that HAB caught the reference. Thanks for including the song too.
