for the current artist challenge. hoflehner has a series of photographs titled "jetliner" - photos of jetliners swooping down the beaches at st. maarten, if i remember right.

i went to the harbourfront and stalked the planes coming in and out of the island airport. if it was a tad earlier i could've taken the ferry to the nudie beach and take photos of nude people with the planes going by, but i know how the people that frequent the nudie beach look like and i tell you, it's not pleasant. and i doubt there'd be any there seeing as it is cold. i might have time to go to the international airport on the weekend but for now this would suffice for the artist challenge.

the artist has a proclivity to high key black and white photographs. the exposure here had been adjusted, but any higher and the nose of the plane would disappear. too noisy though as i didn't notice that the camera was tuned in to the sport function. duh! well, it was cold and the planes were quick. i actually only have a block wide of view and at more than 500 mph i really had to be quick with the shutter.

there's a new six-word story challenge that i'm hosting so i should like to ask you to put in an entry or two, perhaps? pretty please! http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/28722/new-six-word-story-challenge-58
