a curtain of fog by summerfield

a curtain of fog

today is a non-productive day. after a night of fitful sleep, i woke up and got up late, then lazed around. i didn't drag my butt out of the apartment until one o'clock. i was out of the building when i realized i left my tablet. i like to read when i'm on a long bus ride or a long subway ride. so i went back to get it. when i was already on the bus, i realized i took my camera out of my bag and left it on my rocking chair. i wondered why my bag was quite light. i did my errands downtown. afterwards, i wanted to go get something from the craft store near my former apartment. reading my tablet whilst waiting, i felt a wet something fell on my finger. bird shit! i looked up and only then did i realize above me were hydro wires and there were 2 small birds right above me. good thing i had a packet of tissue paper. although it didn't have a bad smell, shit is still shit. there was a convenience store behind me so i spent $1.79 for a tiny bottle of purell sanitizing gel.

feeling a tad cleaner but still feeling icky, i continued to read on my tablet, while waiting for the street car - twenty minutes had already passed as well as two short-run buses which was no good for me. i made sure i wasn't underneath any hydro wires or eaves. overhead, the ornge helicopter ambulance flew past going north-east. the hospital was just a few paces west of where i was waiting.

forty-five minutes now had passed and i heard the sound of helicopter. i looked up and heli was starting to descend towards the hospital rooftop. i took out my iPhone so i could at least take a photo but darn iPhone was too slow i wanted to throw it on to the busy roadway. add to that the vantage point was hindered by tree branches.

now, i've been waiting for such an opportunity for months now. and the one and only time it happened and i didn't have my camera. so i walked over to the intersection where i know the heli would pass and i know the view would be clear - even with the iPhone i resolved to take a photo of the ornge heli surrounded by the tall glass towers. i was poised, then as the sound of the heli receded, i realized it flew back north-east again, the opposite of where i stood. as that heli was leaving a second one, which i also had earlier noted, flew in.

i gave up!

so this is my humble offering for today. i've been taking photos of the skyline from the bedroom window to capture the light and clouds.
Great skyline. I like the fog!!

Super skyline capture. The fog creates a lovely atmosphere. Not nice to miss out on an opportunity due to having no camera with you.

Getting shit on by a bird they say is good luck. I guess it is cause elephants don't fly :) Hope your Sunday is better than your Saturday :)

Hey, haze works as a filter really well...such soft focus. Looks as if it reflects your mood too....There are just some days when the haze is both internal and external!

Sorry for your frustrating day photographically. A very good friend recently told me. " it's nice to be in the depths sometimes. You know. ". Hmmm...oh yeah ...it was you!!! Inspire of that you got a terrific skyline shot that is actually unique because of the haze. ❤️

A frustrating photo day but they do happen! Seems you made the best of it anyway. You have a great view from your apartment so why not take lots of pictures of it!
