black orchid

on its last leg, the orchids from a week ago have started to darken their colours, as they wither, from purple to very dark purple. florists call the colour 'black' but it's not really black.

for the black and white challenge, the theme this go-round is flora.

the thick velvety texture really shines through on this (well it looks thick and velvety - you better correct me if I'm wrong) this is lovely to show off the edges of the unusual flower shape
