au contraire

week 24 of the 52-week challenge, the composition challenge is "contrast".

at the allen gardens yesterday, i had with me the smaller crystal ball. as usual, it's a 'show stopper' and this time the audience were young men who quizzed me as to where they might get one because it's a cool prop. i'm glad that some youngsters can still find things cool other than their games or pda's, even though i wanted to tell them to go... you know.

there's a large tree in the centre of one of the rooms, bereft of leaves and the trunk was deliberately trained to spread in three directions, perhaps to prevent it from growing taller and reaching the glass roof of the gardens. in the small space in the centre, the crystal ball fit just so, reflecting the trunk's rough textures, in contrast to the ball's smooth surface. i suppose you'll see quite a few more from yesterday's sojourn over the next couple of days.

also for the current technique challenge which is refraction through the use of a crystal ball.
Oh yes, I do like your thinking. Love the shot, gotta get one of those thingos.
