footprints in the sand by summerfield

footprints in the sand

with a few tire tracks thrown in for curves.

today i have decided that i will not do anymore good deeds unless someone is bleeding on the floor.

this morning on the bus, in one of the stops, a woman, with her mobile on her left hand connected of course to her ears via earphones, tapped her fare card as she entered the bus. i was seated right in front and i could see everyone as they tapped their cards. now, the woman in question's card did beeped meaning her fare was accepted. for some reason though, she tapped it again and she got a reject. she tapped once more and another reject. i told her that her card already got in the first time, she only looked at me, rather crossly and scrunched her face. she positioned herself so she could look for some cash in her purse to pay her fare. the driver wasn't paying attention, else he would've seen the lady's, nay, woman's card was accepted the first time she tapped, but i suppose all he heard was the second and third taps. he shouted to the woman that she still has to pay her fare whilst the woman continued to look for money. a guy came up and put in money in the fare box and told the driver he's paying for the woman. the woman barely acknowledged him. when i told the woman that her card went through the first time, she told me to mind my own business. what a mother f***er, huh!

so...that's what i decided. no more mister nice guy. unless someone needs a cpr or something that needs an ambulance, i wouldn't just care. especially if they're people from "that place". if they think they're being marginalized, then they obviously freaking deserve it.

tagging this also for week 39 of the 52-week challenge. the creative challenge this week is "abstract". this is abstract enough to me, so....

Whoa! Not sure what place you are referring to but I think I agree with you nevertheless
Such a soothing photo for such a vitriolic narrative! ;~} Love the light and patterns

Can't believe all those footprints!

I really like those tracks in the sand. Imprints of so many people. Nameless. Unrecognizable soon made by the next coming and going. Nothing remains of them, even their traces only for a limited period of time.
This story... Communicating with people, "communicating" with machines... here and there seem to be disagreements. Is retreating the right answer... withdrawing back into oneself...
Plugging in the ears and diving into another world, where no more disturbing from the lifeworld.
I am also increasingly withdrawing. Seeking the enduring in the ephemeral.

The textures, light and shade here are great. Without the tyre marks it could be just about anything, anywhere - if you know what I mean. As for rude people, I'm with you. They can bloody well help themselves.

Love the photo - footprints or just the result of retreating water? Don't let that episode sour you. Good deeds outweigh rudeness. Spread the love!

@jerome - maybe i should go to the mountains, too, and live there so i don't have to deal with people. but i have to make sure there's internet so i do my 365! :-) novel idea, oui?

Nice curves- especially noticeable in black and white.
One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch. For every STUPID person like the one on the bus, there are 5 other people who would genuinely appreciate what you said. So forget her- she's an exception and not worth the anger or the result.

the sand picture with it's own miniature landscape is lovely and soothing to look at. Your narrative is another story. I cant begin to understand why that woman wouldn't want to be listening to your helpful comments, but hey, there is so much that I don't understand ……… my guess is that it is in your nature to be offering help and kindness, and before long you will find yourself at it again, but the alternative of moving to the mountains also sounds like a good option.
