i find myself photographing the skyline quite often. maybe because i know my time in this building is very limited and i shan't have the same opportunity if and when i get accepted for a senior's housing.
but it is the strange cloud formations that always prompt me to take these photos. this was taken last sunday, when there was a heavy squall over the lake and thick fog wove in and out of view. the temperature was in the minus teens but there was no wind and that's probably why the clouds hardly moved. half an hour after this was taken, the skyline again was obscured. you can see how cold it is by the thick smoke coming out of the smoke stacks.
on the other hand, have you noticed that the days are getting longer? if you think so, that's because they are. two more months and it'll be spring.
I am glad to be reminded that the days are getting longer. I find myself longing for this more than ever before this year. The city would looks like a model version if it weren't for the tell tale sign of activity with the smoke. How vast a panorama of a view you get from your apartment. It must really effect your perspective on life to have that sort of perspective on the city. Love the capture - btw!
