tonight, i made brown rice risotto. it's a long process especially that i used brown rice. it is because i don't cook brown rice in a rice cooker; i cook it on the stove which means i'd have to hover around the kitchen to make sure it doesn't burn. some people would soak brown rice overnight and i tried that method long ago and i didn't like the result -- mushy. and it spoiled easily.
i remember back in the old country, we eat brown rice when there's a shortage or when our father was out of job and we could only afford to buy brown rice. no wonder poor people back then had better health than the rich people who ate white rice.
used the 10X filter which only fits the lenses for the Nikon D3100.
Highly commendable Vikki, and very healthy. I have a tee-shirt from the International Rice Research Institute (at Los Banos) that says 'Have You Had Your Rice Today?' on the front. My son managed the experimental farm there for four years.
great dof and focus - brown rice tastes so much better, but it's a pain to cook. It took scientists a while to work out why poor people had better health in rice eating areas, if I remember correctly
Great picture. My mother admonished me one time when I complained about having to hover over a pot of brown rice. “Lou Ann, you are so lucky to have that rice, quit complaining and stir it. If it’s not done in 45 minutes you will still stand there and stir!” 😊
