it's staff appreciation week and our office took us to the baseball game -- the toronto blue jays were hosting the san francisco giants. everyone who attended enjoyed themselves.
while i still knew the mechanics of the game, i had no idea who the players were anymore. the last time i was in the know was when ex-partner and i were still together and that was a long time ago. so after the fourth inning, i decided to walk back to the office and go home as i'd rather do my taxes and be done with it. but after i took a few photos of the cleaning crew which was the only exciting part for me.
i am right now in the third re-calculation as every time i check my work, i find that i had made a mistake and these taxes, you make a small mistake and you need to redo and start over.
@annied we watched a match here last year, had fabulous youngster alongside us who explained events. A total of 7 rounders (runs?) In the game we were not excited by the evening!!
I’m quite amazed that you could walk from the ballpark back to your office! We are miles and literally millions of people and cars away from the Texas Rangers stadium. We have a B team stadium much closer, it is smaller and a lot more fun! Your stadium is huge. If you have a friend who’s an accountant you could have her/him look at your numbers. Sometimes a second set of eyes is all that is needed.
brilliant strong color to your photo. I think baseball moves a bit too slow for me to enjoy. I reallky can't get excited about many spectator sports anymore unless maybe hockey........l like the fights!
@louannwarren - thanks, law. but i've finished the darn thing. i made a couple of mistakes because the form i now needed to use was different as i turned 65 last year. the recalculation was to my advantage though so it was worth it! i have no accountant friends, in my family and my small circle of friends i am the accountant and i am not much useful. :-D
Having been to several bb games I have to say I have more fun watching the people at them than the game. People say soccer games take forever- I don't think they've ever been to a bb game. Anyway- glad you enjoyed a little bit of it and accomplished the burden of getting your taxes done too. Now, really, you could tell that was my shot from a messy drawer?! Goodness, maybe I should organize it! Good shot.
I think I would be more interested in the cleaning crew too. I did get to a game once - whilst visiting friends in Texas. It was so long - a lot of people watching was done that evening. Glad you got your accounts finally sorted.
@louannwarren - the ballpark is actually just below the CN tower, and right across the aquarium. it is about a 5 blocks walk from where my office. if they had built it outside of the city core, not a lot of people would take the drive to go and watch. thanks, law.
