these are drive-by shots. i was in a street car all set to go home yesterday when i saw these three young women talking animatedly. i made a collage of the two shots to show the tats of the two, the one in the middle didn't look like she had any. if she did, it's probably well hidden.
not a fan of tattoos either. i probably can tolerate a tiny symbol or name with significance - but not on me - but not to cover one's arm or body. where i grew up, tattoos were generally seen on men who had been in prison for a long time. the more tattoos a man had meant longer prison stay which in turn spoke of the nasty crime they committed.
i have a friend whose daughter is having an extensive removal of her tattoos and her once flawless skin will no longer be the same with the scars from the removal.
my son has tattoos all over his upper body and arms. when i asked him why he has them, he said that that was his way to express himself and showed me this big dragon on his arm with my birthdate which he said was to honour me. i said i wish you would honour me by listening to my advice and not with that thing on your arm. when he was looking for a job a few years ago, he had to wear long sleeves in the middle of summer heat. i told him sarcastically that he should show off his tats but he was afraid he may not get the job if they saw his tats. he did get the job but he was ordered by the manager to make a lot of effort to cover his tattooed body. and to think the manager also had tattoos.
Great spotting and nice candid shot. As for the tats....I'm not a fan of anything that big. I dont mind the nice small very artistic ones but I dont think I will ever get one.
I am so naïve I had to think long and hard to try and work out what you meant by tats! I shall refrain from comment on that matter - suffice to say, no one will ever come near me with a needle for that. I wouldn't even have my ear pierced. I particularly like the way you have caught the slimmer lady as she strides along - in the side-on image.
@summerfield My kids (and grandkids) seem to have avoided the tatts bug, thank goodness. Even if a tatt looks OK when you're 20, it'll look pretty awful and droopy when you're older. I just don't get it, get some jewellery instead.
A contemporary Charlie's Angels indeed- and I'm akin to many of the comments above. I don't like the tattoos on my older son's arm although the symbolism of one of them was very meaningful to him when he designed it. But apparently it no longer reminds him of what it meant as I don't see it playing out in his life anymore. My niece had a botched one which she spent thousands of dollars removing and now has another. I can't believe she went and did that as I'm pretty sure she will come to regret it like the first one when her skin is no longer taut and beautiful. Oh well- lots of people make money on putting them on, and lots of people make money taking them off! Fun collage.
Fun spot - Another one who can't see the point of tattoos - particularly on ageing skin, and anyway, there are transfers if you desperately need one for the night
