all that?!?!?! by summerfield

all that?!?!?!

hop-along bob was astonished with all the implements and doo-dahs a woman has to use to beautify herself. he had to stay far away from the lipsticked lips else he might get some in his collar! but he was also astonished that the mighty TP can also be used for this beautification project. he was glad.

it's friday and i put away my laptop that i use for office work and i don't even want to see it until monday morning. the news coming from everywhere is getting worse and worse. a friend who works in a smaller firm than us texted me to say that about twenty of her co-workers were laid off, and effective this month their salary will be cut by ten percent and fifteen in may. this weekend police will be ticketing people who are outside if they are not at least two metres away from other people, except if they are from the same household. it has come to this, by-laws that would force people to obey. some just don't understand. some don't want to believe. some don't want to admit this new normal, this new reality.

i am in my house and i cough and i get conscious lest neighbours think i am sick and they will call the authorities on me. what a way of life. i hope to wake up early enough to get to the grocery. i do have quite a stock of food but there are just some things that you need to have fresh. i've finished the comfort foods that my niece made for me last weekend and since yesterday i have had pizza, and i couldn't appreciate it. pizza, i think, is a happy meal and there seems to be nothing to be happy about.

i am thankful that we have 365 to focus on as a respite from all the chaos and grim news.

there's a new tag challenge. join in! https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/43387/this-is-tag-challenge-168
The news is grim. I have it easier here a bit because we have a large, empty county with beaches and forest trails where people are allowed if they stay 6 feet apart, but really even 100 meters apart is easy on our beaches if you pick the right one at the right time. Stay healthy.

I agree that 365 seems to draw us closer even though we are so far apart! It is a good solace.

What a creative fun shot. So cute to see bob peeking out!

I agree. Thank goodness for our community here. Love your makeup setup. I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere for awhile but I may still get dressed up just for fun one of these days.

A wonderful still life of a woman's beauty regimen. (Quite effective judging from the selfies I have seen)
I am admittedly woefully ignorant of any movie references and had to zoom in to see what Katy was referring to about Bob! Whoever he is! A minion of some sort... but back to the image... lovely! And when we are able to focus on our individual inner strength perhaps we can find a way to manage the overwhelming stress of this untenable situation we are all enduring.

I like how hop-along Bob is peeking around the corner. Times sure are tough around the world

Your makeup table is so organized compared to mine. And lately, I’m not even bothering with it. I’m afraid that similar restraints are about to be imposed here. We can still go out of the house, but every day more and more is being closed down and freedoms restricted.

Wow, an impressive array. I must confess I haven't worn makeup of any kind since 1964. I can be precise because I started work as a YWCA youth leader that year and our building had not a single mirror in a place with enough light to see what you were doing. Daily moisturiser and Chapstick have sufficed ever since.

Our 'social distancing' regulations are much the same, but apply to household members too. Most popular beaches are closed which has cause a huge uproar because we're allowed to go outside to exercise (socially distanced) so people want to walk on the beaches too. Only four permissable reasons to be out and about: work, exercise, medical and essential shopping. Police are on duty and big, big fines if you're caught doing something you shouldn't be doing. Hard to believe this is happening in Oz.

Brilliant set up!

Fabulous still life, horrid story.

We don't have police out in force where I am, and fortunately people obey the 2m rule. I like that complete strangers chat from the 2m distance, that most are upbeat and kind. But we're still in the calm before the storm here

Love those lipstick Marks

Be brave and resist, Vikki. Dire times...

nice set up shot... but the news, indeed, is grim
April 4th, 2020
A great set up Vikki. We're still in a pretty good situation (as far as infection goes) compared with eastern Australia and I hope that enough has been done to keep it that way. As of Sunday evening a hard border closure will be enforced. This will mean that only people with specific clearance (medical, emergency services and essential goods and services) can cross into Western Australia. The news that is coming in from around the world is heartbreaking. Please look after yourself.

I didn't know I'd find comfort in my feelings and thoughts mirrored here.....

Very Creative bringing a smile to the face of everyone who see it I am sure.
