according to natureescapes.co.uk, "Twilight is the period between sunset and dusk. During twilight there is still light in the sky. ... Dusk is the point when the sun is at 18 degrees below the horizon and there is no longer any sunlight in the sky."
so tell me, is it twilight or dusk?
i was disappointed today when i went to the art school. the artist who was supposed to be the facilitator for the course i wanted to take was very rude and arrogant. she thumbed her nose when i told her that i take photographs. she was very abrupt when talking and wouldn't even look at me. the behaviour would have been forgivable if her tone was the same with the other people; i could've chucked it to artist's temperament. so i called her on her attitude. she ignored me. i banged on the counter and pointedly told her how rude she was and that if i was her, i'd be nice to people. "you never know, you might have a heart attack in a few minutes and i could just be the only one who can perform CPR on you." she looked at me from head to toe and told me the office had a defibrillator. my comeback? in a very soft but firm voice, "well be that as it may, but what if no one knows how to work it? eh, think about that."
suffice it to say that i won't be taking that woman's class. methinks i will go to a real school and not some third rate artist.
for week 43 of the 52-week challenge, silhouettes is the fare. also for the landscape challenge.
Well, I think I'd call it dusk. Not much light left in the sky but enough to show the lovely silhouette of the city.
The artist was rude. I think that I would report her to the art school. If you have a Facebook account, you could comment on her in a post. There's no call for that attitude, especially if you planned to pay for the lessons.
Maybe it is simply dusk to dawn, beautiful capture and vibe. You certainly are the Queen of storytelling, I hope you find the time to write a book one day :-)
Somehow it just seems so much worse to me when an artist is an a-hole. Well, her loss for sure as I've no doubt you would be a dream student! Great image, I LOVE the composition, the tones, the silhouette... Awesome!
How disappointing and ridiculous that woman is. What in the world gets into people. I’m so sorry your first “art lesson” was a complete bust! Good grief!
You did right and well done for putting her in her place. How could you learn anything from a woman like that. I hope you find another class and teacher with more civility and grace
First, the photo. I’m gonna go with dusk it seems to be a little too dark for it to be twilight. It’s an amazing photo and I think I’m going to give it a FAV.
As to the rude, arrogant artist. It takes all kinds to make the world go ‘round but we don’t have to deal with them! If I were close enough I would go in and tell her how rude she is as well and explain to her that just because she can do one thing doesn’t mean she’s better than anyone else. You are a quality person and it’s her loss that she didn’t recognize that!
Dusk or twilight- not sure. To me it still has some light albeit the deepest colors of the spectrum.
As for the so-called artist. That kind of person is not even worth wasting your breath on pointing out their disposition. They think they're right and better than you so your words have no value or consequence to them.
BUT your words do have value wherever you can review this school or let the powers-that-be know you will not return to it and you're going to tell all your friends what a lousy experience you had there thanks to her. If there's a place to review it on line- do it- especially mentioning the artist!! The only way to make an impact on this kind of person (at least in the educational field) is to damage their income. And if no one's taking her classes, the school will eventually let her go.

And as to the artist/coordinator; rudeness is such an unattractive quality, you don’t want to be around that....
