where could i've put the key? by summerfield

where could i've put the key?

i've been wondering where i've placed the key for this lock. i have locks and keys that don't match around the apartment; some of them i didn't even know i have. one notable thing about this lock is that it is NOT made in china.

i've been looking closely at the products i buy these days. i think twice about buying something that is cheap. this afternoon i was at the grocery store and saw a pack of 4 oral-b toothbrushes for $4.99. my first thought was fake? then i read the bar code and the "made in" bit and it was made in india. immediately, the images of hungry, bone-and-skin children in deplorable conditions making those cheap toothbrushes came to mind. it was tempting for that price, but i didn't buy the pack.

who among you remember and had seen the series "amerika"? i remember watching some of it when i was still working in oman. our condo had in-house cable service and i've seen parts of the movie. the premise seemed far-fetched but with everything that's going on now, one just never knows! i think i should stop watching those "karen" videos; my brain is working overtime without pay.

this is a three-fer: for the macro-lock challenge, the six-word story challenge and the eye of the beholder challenge. wonder if i can make it a grand slam?
This is an amazingly detailed close up view! I can never get this cloe of a shot without getting a shadow in it!

Great closeup and industrial look to this, and I had to laugh as we have so many locks that we can't open and so many keys that seem useless!

@grammyn - i had the lens on full zoom and i was using the raynox macro filter. i'm not that good, i just know how to use some of my gears. 😂

@taffy - i know, eh. and then i also have those that have codes but i have no idea what the codes are!

the keys with no locks and locks with no keys seems to be a common problem. I can certainly add to it. I love how your mind wonders and tells an all too important story here. there is so much to consider when making a purchase that it is easier not to shop at all.

Nice shot. We try our best to support local businesses that produce their products locally

You made an everyday object into something special.

There are so many details visible: the lock, the screws or whatever holds it together and the scratches.
