the feather

trust is like a feather; the smallest brush of breath will make it fly away.

it's been a stressful week work-wise. thankfully, it's friday tomorrow (if i don't forget), and then it's the weekend and i can do whatever i want to do. like paint. or add to the story i'm writing that's now 8,000 words. i wonder if i can really write a full novel. the most i've written is 20,000 words, a novella that was snubbed by two magazines because i was told the story had no "ooomph!" factor. and there i thought a man getting tortured by electrocution was ooomph! but my characters were lawyers so that was probably what didn't appeal to them. it seems lawyers aren't that impressive character-wise.
