i wasn't sure that a decorative bamboo plant would go well with the interior of this vintage room, but i guess it's a matter of situating the plant in the right light. nearer the foreground it looked so conspicuously out of place but moving it farther back it kind of blends in. it should as this is the only idea that came to mind when i saw this photo.
in my next life i would live in a house like this, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and from prying relatives who think i pluck money out of the dollar tree. of course i would welcome a visitor every now and then, or have the nearest neighbour (about two miles near) for a cup of tea and smart chat. else, i'll just be painting and writing my days away.
@mcsiegle - near lunenburg, nova scotia. i saw last night you left me a message from a long time ago, sorry didn't see it on time. but thank you for the thought. next time, perhaps?
@summerfield next time I make Welsh cakes (which may not be for a long time) I’ll let you know and you can FB Messenger your address to me. So good you were able to get out and visit this historic place. Lockdown has driven a lot of people a bit stir crazy. Here where I live it’s loosened up a lot.
I would love a room like this too- but probably without the bamboo (which you have so expertly blended in I didn't see it at first)! Actually I have a lot of things like this already just not displayed as nicely. What can I say? I'd rather be taking pictures than decorating houses.
I'll bring cake if you make the tea ( in a tea pot!)
