this is the last bird painting for my bird series, unless i see another one that i think i could paint. i now have two cardinals, two blue jays that i haven't posted, and this.
by the way, this is from a photograph of randy lubbering @randy23 to whom goes a big thank you https://365project.org/randy23/365/2021-05-23 he has a photo of an owl with its wings spread out that i wanted to paint but i chickened out because there are just too many details in the feathers and with the wings spread. i know what my limits are so i would reserve that for five years from now (if i'm still into painting). but maybe i will still paint my friend the hawk.
i sent a photo of this to my boss and his wife and both were gushing with disbelief. hah! they thought i was just a pretty face! 🤣
and as usual, it was difficult to draw the feet as it was not quite clear in the photo but since the pelican was skidding on the water, the solution was to cover it with water splashes. pretend i didn't tell you that.
Anyone who know you knows you are much more than "just another pretty face"! This is amazing~! You have captured all the minute details exquisitely! The proportions and light are spot on and even the water looks perfect! Aces ! and a FAV
That's superb! Well done indeed. Textures are lovely. I had a go at a watercolour yesterday, you'll see it on mine. I think I am a closet Impressionist LOL
This is pelicantastic..... I love pelicans and I'm going on a pelican tour in about a week and a half. I should be on it today but Bob surgery yesterday made me cancel. Thankfully I was able to reschedule it. Two photo friends did go today so looking forward to their pictures and details on what to bring and look for.
Now, about your pretty face......
i'm doing well, just crazy busy at work... how about you?
