i pass by this young tree every morning on my walk. suddenly today its leaves have changed colours. i was thinking too early? it's still very warm. then something in the old brain clicked, we are a day away from the official 'fall'. i also passed by an oak tree and its acorns were still green. but the air was crisp this morning, the one morning i didn't bring a sweater.
it was fun reading your take on whether i should take a photo if i found a dead body. while let us hope that wouldn't happen, i doubt though if i would take a photo of it. first, it would be a disrespect to the dead person, unless i am ordered by authorities to do so (which would be unlikely anyway). depending on the body's state of deadness, i'm pretty sure i'd stay as far away as i could (if i call the police, they'd want me to stay where i am for questioning of course). death has a certain smell, even more so if it's a human. long ago, after i finished college, i wanted to take criminology and forensics. when i asked for advice from my former biology teacher, she reminded me that i could not even bring myself to touch a frog, let alone slice it open. if the idea could make me retch, how much more if it was a human body. she had a point. so, i enrolled in law instead.
by the way, the shirt from yesterday's shot was on the ground about 5 yards south of where it was yesterday, soaking wet as it must've rained last night.
Isn't autumn superb?
Just wondering: why would it be disrespectful to photograph a dead body? Of course, I don't see the point of having a photograph of a stranger's dead body... Don't mind me! I was just wondering out loud...
This photo of the leaves is stunning especially with the autumn color already enhancing it!
