this is one of the paintings i finished two weeks ago and included in my submission for the September art show. i struggled with the grass part and changed it quite a few times until i got to this. the original photo i took had the grounds well manicured which to me looked ridiculous with the old barn and the dilapidated car. but i really liked that i was able to mimic the colours. spent a total of 20 hours, not counting the changes.
Yes, it did need some scruffy grass. I always battle with the foregrounds in painting - not that I do many traditional paintings, but I know where my problems will be before I begin! Well done.
