Cape Spear, Newfoundland by summerfield

Cape Spear, Newfoundland

painted from photographs of Louise & Ken @Weezilou as well as a couple of blurry photos i've taken of this lighthouse a long time ago when ex-partner and i went driving around eastern Canada.

i've only finished two paintings since i've filed my taxes. i'm working rather slowly on a third one for two weeks now. i'm losing motivation and confidence, so reluctant to dip brush onto paint and apply on canvas. but don't worry, i'm not about to take up drinking and cutting my ear off.
@Weezilou - thanks again for the inspiration.

I've just come back from traveling up and down the coast of Maine photographing a few lighthouses so this was an instant fav for me! Don't give up on the painting- just let it come back naturally.

Beautifully done Vikki!

Nice. You must have taken the photos before global warming because when I looked up this location there were no icebergs in any of the photos.

Well, one glass of wine may be just right to sparkle the confidence and motivation. But the ear, leave it where it is. It looks better that way.
As for this, it is really amazing how you developed this style of illustration and realism. Not to mention your perseverance. I deeply admire you and your work. Keep going and also take a break every now and then. Create scarcity, so that interest is revived.
