rode the ferry to ward islands at lunch to take photos. @fanined (an ex-365-er) came along; she also found out where we go to take the ferry, times, price - yes, i got me my "wingman" for the day :-) thanks, kiddo (she's my original kiddo).
i took this shot half-way through the ferry ride to the island, which is roughly 4 kilometres southeast of the CN tower, just to show a different perspective of our little tower. the white dome you see on the left is the stadium formerly known as "skydome" now rogers centre - home of the toronto blue jays. and because we have a small airport on the western part of the islands, i got to catch an airplane as it traversed the lake waters towards the airport. and on the lower left, there's a sailboat. too bad the train station's a bit inland so none of the trains were visible.
the lower boxy whitish building on the right with two white ferries is the building in my june 9 photo (next to that though not visible in this pic is the boardwalk). the two buildings behind this boxy building are the buildings on either side of my june 10 photo - just to give you some perspective of the other shots i've posted.
and yes, it was a beautiful day, although the winds are a little bit coolish. late in the afternoon, the lake was teeming with sailboats. ah, to be rich and owning a sailboat. SOOC but for the frame done in picnik.
@reanne - thanks, reanne. i think everyone should spend a little money to ride the ferry and just admire the beauty of this wonderful city. @danig - thanks, DG. @steeler - you are so sweet. thank you.
folks, thank you so much for your wonderful comments. i am so flattered.
You are killing this challenge! Great idea, again! I'll be under the Tower today (Thursday) in the Dome for the Jays game with the kids' school. I'll keep my eye out for you :) Excellent photo and love the little plane in there.
All this needs is "Wish You Were Here" printed across it... AWESOME shot. Does the ferry run at night?? That view at night must be spectacular! Okay now I'm really juiced up for a personal challenge...
@slang - thanks, my friend. suddenly my brain's full of ideas. like there's a nudist beach on the west side of the islands behind the airport. hmmmmm......i found that out yesterday. hahahaha. @callalilla - kimberly, thank you. your albums are awesome, too! @jobesekama - beth, thank you. @rynce - thanks, kid.
@celticmystyc - thank you, you are so kind and sweet. and yes, i found out a lot yesterday, i'm just trying to find me a wingman to go there. and as i wrote to @slang above, there's a nudist beach somewhere on the islands. wink! wink! but not to worry, if i do that it will be in really good taste. lol! @samdan - wow, lesley, thank you. @bruni - yes, the skydome can be seen across the lake on a clear day, as far away as the U.S. if you can believe it. @pamfromcalgary - pam, thank you. @lacedxxoo - lacy, thank you and thanks for coming by.
@cscecil - and here i thought you didn't like it...joke! i know you're a busy lady. but i'm so glad you like it. the problem with 365, i notice, and i've read it in some of the discussions, that the colours change when photos are uploaded here. and this is the first time that this happened to my photo. in my original, the blue colours are more like the real sky blue.
@danig - thanks, DG.
@steeler - you are so sweet. thank you.
