ylang-ylang is the national flower of the philippines. it is valued for its perfume and the essential oil derived from it is used in aromatherapy.
i have forgotten how the ilang-ilang tree looks like. today a good friend brought us to her 'resort' place up in the mountains about an hour and a half drive south of manila. the property overlooks laguna de bay and itself overlooks at grander mountains. the property has four cabanas, a full-functioning clubhouse, a mid-sized swimming pool and the master's house built in the middle of a man-made lagoon. beside the swimming pool, there is a small ylang-ylang tree and its scent just couldn't be ignored.
i have started packing my things. i bought a large 'prada' leather bag (fake, of course!) which i will convert into a camera bag later on. one more day to go and i'm off to san francisco from where i shall take the plane going to buffalo and then home by saturday morning. yes, i'm dying to fly back north into the comfort of home. i won't be sneaking in any ylang-ylang flowers though.
thank you for your comments and a few more days and i will be able to return the favour of commenting on yours, my friends.
