it's quite spine tingling when you hear this declaration at the end of the information they feed you while on the 'maid of the mist' boat ride. the thunderous sounds made by the water hitting the boulders and the river add to the drama because after that declaration they turn off the mic and it is all you hear. this is the third time i have gone on this tour and it still gets me. this is part of the canadian falls shown here.
at this point my hands and fingers were numbed from pressing the shutter button and trying too hard not to get the camera too wet. there are always a lot of birds, seagulls mostly around the area but still this shot came as a surprise. one of my goals for my album(s) this year is to take a photo of a bird in flight. i am still aiming for that, but in the meantime, this shot here will hold a special meaning for me.

OOOOOMMMMMMMGGGGG! Instant fav! I feel like I am there. I so WISH I could be there! This is gorgeous! I have seen most major landmarks in the US, but when my family did this trip, I stayed with my cousin and hung out and missed it. They did not do the Maid of the Mist tour though....I would love to see and hear this!
