same subject tuesday - toronto's old city hall

here is a view of part of the pillars and arches in the main entrance, showing the intricate carvings on the cornices which are caricature of faces of the councillors of the era.

this building has a massive square quad with a courtyard in the middle. i will try to get an interior shot for next week, although i doubt i will be permitted to do it.

i would love to see a close-up of those faces, or at least a few of them. how interesting - i wonder how many of the lawyers are happy with how they are portrayed up there for eternity? caricatures are so interesting of an art form - very abstract. wonderful capture, vikki.
