A Garden Buddy

This little Garter Snake usually stays hidden but s/he showed up this afternoon in one of the gardens. Kala (our almost three month old puppy) was a big help in getting this pic ... I was kneeling and she kept jumping onto my shoulders to make sure I got the focus just right. Much like the bull shot yesterday --- get it in the first click or forget it. lol. Check out the detail if you're up for it. Apologies to those who don't care for snakes. I know how I'd feel if someone posted a pic of a mouse! ;-)

I think I'll just look at it small. Snakes are my biggest animal fear! Mice don't bother me at all! This is an awesome capture!!! The details I glanced at are fantastic! I have the same help from my cats that you are getting from Kala! LOL!

Snakes totally creep me out, but I did magnify this one, because I haven't seen a garter snake in years. They were common where I grew up and my childhood crush put one down my back in 2nd grade - hence the fear. But this shot is beautiful, and both Kala and you did a great job in capturing it.
