We woke up to a snow covered ground this morning .. first time this year. That's the signal for my husband to start feeding the birds. This blue jay was one of the first visitors.
i'm so jealous! i've been trying to get a picture of one that i keep seeing, but i can never get close enough. This is a great shot......he's a beauty!!
What a beautiful bird!!! My Mom does oil painting and likes to do birds with snow backgrounds ......I will show it to her and maybe she will decide to do this one .....thank you for sharing!!! Canada must be very cold but gorgeous during this time of the year!!!
This is a nice soft portrait of a usually belligerent bird, as I told Brian the other day. I am sure he is happy to have the seeds. Happy Thanksgiving, Anne. I appreciate your daily comments.
Oh my, I envy you --- seems I can find turkeys and hawks and ibises and ducks but my song birds never hang around long enough to capture them. The jay is beautiful....what a terrific shot. Fav.
Fantastic close up! Great shot lots of color and detail. Love to see the blue jays at my feeders. They are something to see in the birdbath. Water goes everywhere.
I can't get over how you get these beautiful pictures of birds! You must have a fabulous zoom to get so close. We have 17 for the weekend. I will write to you as soon as they are out from under foot been thinking about you lately.
the first time i saw a real blue jay when we used to live in the farm, i was giddy. i was using an instamatic camera and took pictures and the bird just stayed put despite the instamatic's flash constant flashing. this is nice!
