Winter Chores

The angles on this image drive me bananas so I'll just leave it as i took it. Tilting it one way or the other both feel wrong.

Anyway, it's not a pic I'm posting for its photography genius, rather to remind me how fortunate I am that Barry climbs to the very top of the roof of the garage to clear the snow from around the satellite dish --- three times in this one storm alone [a week or two ago]. It snowed all day long! That's him in the upper left corner. Thankfully, he's only had to do it a couple of other times this winter. We're expecting +8 C this weekend so hopefully we'll lose most of it then.

Btw, for you non-Canadians, it's NOT a b&w shot, rather a real colour capture of our winter scene! You can just make out the blue in his jeans.

Just out of range of the pic, Kala was patiently waiting for each shovel full of snow. She never misses an opportunity to catch whatever's being thrown! ;-)

Many thanks for dropping by.
Oh....my...gosh! Speechless!

Excellent shot Anne. That's a lot of snow on the roof. Never a chore anyone looks forward to in the winter! Hopefully the melting will begin soon.

Oh my, you guys really were hit hard.

YIKES!!!!! I would be holding my breath watching Barry up there on that slippery roof. You caught him well and he is even framed by the branches ;-) I can't ever remember seeing so much snow as this....Beautiful capture of it blanketing your home.

@cimes1 thanks, carole! yes, "holding my breath" is exactly what it's like!

Gosh, I'd be terrified!

This angle feels right to me. I love it. It is a great black and white. He looks like he's in a dangerous spot. I hope he's always careful

Wow! That's a lot of snow! I've heard of peoople shoveling their roofs to prevent collapse, but never saw it.
March 8th, 2013
Also, I've never even heard of shoveling out the dish! Bravo Barry!

I hope he is careful. My husband had a knee replacement right after my surgery so we have to leave ours to fate. So far so good. Nice photo of your man at work.

Amazing! I can't believe it's not in B&W. I wouldn't live one whole day there - i'd freeze to death. That looks a dangerous job up there, clearing the snow. One false move and he'll be on ground in one second.

It's a great shot Anne...the east has really taken a hit with snow this year...we are so dry that we had grass fires last week...snow on the ground at the moment, but it's melting quickly.
