We have lots of Common Redpolls and sometimes I see what I think is a rare Hoary mixed in with the crowd. Slightly larger size, shorter beak, paler overall colour, fainter streaking --- Maybe I've finally caught a Hoary! Many thanks for dropping by.
Congrats Anne! Beautiful capture! I have only seen a couple of redpolls this year...and that was out near the mountains, none at the feeders this year.
Unfortunately I don't know much about birds, but know enough to be impressed with your spotting a rare one! Interesting small head and short beak. Nice feather detail.
