Damselflies by sunnygreenwood

Damselflies

Two female damselflies are mating and laying eggs on the floating leaf with their male partners staying attached. By staying locked on, the males ensure that another male does not come along and mate with 'their' female before the eggs are laid.
ps. Id help Milanie, Anne and friends ... guessing a bluet, familiar bluet?

I'm not sure what species that is. It doesn't have a lot of distinctive marks. Great shot.
