This little downy woodpecker was cleaning up the crumbs under the suet block. We're off to see some snow geese today. Fingers crossed.
Here's some info from the Cornell birding site about Downy woodpeckers if you're interested: "They prefer suet feeders, but are also fond of black oil sunflower seeds, millet, peanuts, and chunky peanut butter. Occasionally, Downy woodpeckers will drink from oriole and hummingbird feeders as well."
