Red Trillium by sunnygreenwood

Red Trillium

There are some red trilliums growing near our front door.

Trilliums are the flower of the province of Ontario, Canada. Everything comes in threes with them: three leaves, three sepals, three petals, a three-sectioned seedpod, and even their genus name starting with "tri". This red trillium is one of five native trillium species found in Ontario.

Terrific shot, Anne. I may be a bit prejudiced. lol. I've only seen the darker red ones.

Beautiful close up of this one. I have a lone red one in my garden. It looks pretty similar but the center is darker.
