This is just a little pic to show you how high the porcupine was. Barry [6ft tall] is standing just off the road in the brush. The porcupine is visible if you look closely in the centre top of the pic, on the branch just in front of the top of the cedar tree.
Wonderful shot, Anne ... nice to see hubby there. And I saw the porcupine right away! Poor little guy .. I think that they really are frightened of people. Fantastic capture.
@lesip@karenann yes, i agree he/she was at least curious and maybe a bit frightened so we only stayed long enough to get a couple of pics and got out of there. when we came along it was already in the tree at the beginning of the same branch so we didn't see much climbing. Barry has a great eye for stuff like this so he spotted it right away.
Amazing you were able to see him way up there especially with the similar brown colors. I think that's a such good idea to show how high the tree is. I need to do that with the dead tree that has attracted the ospreys.
