A New Shape

The rather uninteresting shaped lawn now has a wider border, curves and flower beds It looks much more interesting and there's a lot more scope for planting. It's a shame we can't make a few visits to garden centres to buy plants. Something to look forward to when life is good again.

Must be so hard to decide the layout of a new garden....do it gradually I suppose, you can always make the grass less but harder to put it back!

It's a lovely garden Sue. There's a lot of thought and planning gone into that.

and curves are so much easier to mow along - this looks really lovely. I did the same here, on a big scale. mowing used to take me about 7 hours some years back. the use of curves to expand gardens and create flowing lines, as well as just lots more gardens on hard to mow areas, has cut it down to only 4. on a ride on, 4 hours goes fast with an audio book and of course I usually only do an hour or two at a time. I love this look

@bkbinthecity @happysnaps @happypat @stevejacob @koalagardens @gijsje @brennieb @gardencat @onewing @foxes37 @gilbertwood @g3xbm Thank you all for your lovely comments. I passed them on to Chris and he was very pleased. He’s had an idea in his head for a while and gradually he’s achieved what he wanted in this part of the garden. This grass is kept neat and weed/wild flower free here but in other grassy areas the weeds/wild flowers are allowed to grow, in fact in one bit Chris has actually sown wild flower seeds. Hopefully the bees, butterflies and other insects will be happy.
